BESZHAN SAGYNTAYEV was born in 1900 in the territory corresponding to the present-day Tugisken Rural District of the Zhanaarka District. He was a participant in the Great Patriotic War and was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor in 1948. He began his working career in 1936 as a shepherd at the Sarysu Collective Farm in Zhambyl Region. After the war, he continued working in livestock farming. He lived in the village of Kyzylzhar until the end of his life. A street in the settlement of Kyzylzhar is named in honor of B. Sagyntayev. |

ESENZHOL ZALIYEV (1930–2003) was born in 1930 in the Zhanaarka District. He began his working career at the age of 13 at Mine No. 44/45 of the Oktyabrkomir Trust in the Stalin District. After completing his compulsory military service from 1950 to 1954, he returned to work in the mine. In 1962, he was awarded the honorary title «Honored Miner», and in 1966 he was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor. In 1970, he was elected a Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. He was awarded the Order of Lenin and the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. |

ZHAKEN RUSTEMOV (Beisek) (1908-1995) was born in the 4th aul of the Aktau Volost. From 1929 to 1933, he worked as an excavator and stonemason; from 1933 to 1941, as a coal cutter and blaster at Mine No. 18; and from 1941 to 1972, as a mining foreman and section head. During the periods of the Five-Year Plans, he achieved outstanding results in the development of the coal industry. He was elected a Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR of the Sixth Convocation. He was awarded the Order of Lenin, two Orders of the Red Banner of Labor, and the Order of the Badge of Honor. In 1957, he was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor. |

ABAIDILDA ZHUMYRTQINOV – senior shepherd of the Birlik collective farm, who in 1947 raised 514 lambs from 440 fat-tailed sheep and achieved an average weight of 40 kilograms per lamb; for these accomplishments, he was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor by the 1948 Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, and received the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal «Hammer and Sickle». |

KAIROLLA BAIGABYLOV (1912–2004) was an agronomist and Hero of Socialist Labor (1957). He graduated from the Omsk Agricultural Institute in 1934. From 1934 to 1936, he worked as a senior agronomist at the Maybalyk Machine and Tractor Station in Northern Kazakhstan. In 1941, he served as an agronomist-economist at the Karaganda Regional Land Department. Between 1941 and 1958, he held the position of director of the Zhanaarka and Aktasty Machine and Tractor Stations. From 1958 to 1964, he worked as director of the state farm trust, deputy head of the Regional Department for Workers’ Supply of the Karaganda Regional Council of the National Economy, and head of a department within the Regional Administration for Agricultural Product Procurement. From 1965 to 1967, he served as head of the Department of Agriculture of Shet District. From 1967 to 1972, he was chief agronomist of the Karaganda Regional Department of Agriculture. From 1972 to 1975, he served as director of a mechanized forestry enterprise. He was a delegate to the Tenth Congress of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan and was awarded the Order of Lenin and the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. |

OSPAN ALIBAYEV (1908-1971) was born in the village of Tugisken, located in the Zhanaarka District. In 1926, he joined the Qosshy organization and engaged in agriculture in Tugisken. In 1935, he became a member of the Marx Collective Farm, and in 1936 he was elected as a delegate to the Second Congress of Collective Farmers held in Moscow, where he was awarded the medal «For Labor Valor». In 1941, he was conscripted into the army and assigned to work in the coal mines of Karaganda. He worked at Mine No. 1, where he received the honorary title «Honored Miner». In 1946, he returned to his native collective farm and took up livestock farming. In 1948, having achieved a yield of 126 lambs per 100 ewes under his care, he was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor. He became the 7,156th Hero of Socialist Labor in the Soviet Union, the 43rd in Kazakhstan, and the first in the Zhanaarka District |

SATAN NURGOZHAULY ISKAKOV (1928-1999) – shepherd; Hero of Socialist Labor (1975); Honored Worker of the Kazakh SSR (1970). Deputy of the 8th Convocation of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR. Twice awarded the Order of Lenin. In 1966, he received an independent flock and became a senior shepherd. From every one hundred ewes of the Kazakh coarse-wooled sheep under his care, 140 lambs were obtained in 1970, and 150 lambs in 1975. |

SHALGYNBAY YNTYKBAEV was born in 1936 in the village of Orkendеу, Zhanaarka District. He was a leading shepherd and head of the Batyr auyly peasant farm, as well as an Honorary Citizen of the Zhanaarka District. From 1953, he worked as a shepherd at the Örkenдеу Collective Farm, and from 1964 at the Aktau State Farm. In 1964, he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. YDYRYS ZHUMABEKOV (1926–2008) was born in 1926 in the 8th aul of the Zhanaarka District. In 1963, he graduated from the Akmola Zooveterinary Technical School, and in 1976 from the Akmola Agricultural Institute with a specialization as a research zootechnician. Having progressed through his career from a rank-and-file worker, he held the positions of Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Zhanaarka District Council, Director of the Zhenis State Farm awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Head of the District Department of Agriculture, First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the District Council, Chairman of the District Agro-Industrial Association, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Atasuy Settlement Council, and Chief Human Resources Specialist of the District Agro-Industrial Association. He served as Chairman of the District Council of Veterans of the Great Patriotic War and Labor and was a Hero of Socialist Labor, a recipient of two Orders of Lenin, the Gold Star Medal, the Order of the Badge of Honor, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, and several other medals. He was elected a Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR of the Seventh Convocation and a delegate to the XXIII Congress of the CPSU.
